Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) for Hair Loss and Thinning
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) are used to stimulate hair growth and reduce the effects of hair loss and thinning in both men and women. These natural growth factor treatments use your body’s own healing properties to help support healthier, fuller-looking hair. For some patients, PRP and PRF may help improve hair growth for hereditary hair loss as well as hair thinning related to hormones, stress, age, surgery, illness, and more.
About PRP/PRF
PRP and PRF are derived from your own blood. After a quick blood draw, the sample is spun in a centrifuge to isolate the growth factors. These growth factors are then delivered via injection into the desired area(s) of the scalp to help stimulate inactive hair follicles and encourage them into an active growth phase.
PRP releases growth factors more quickly, while PRF contains a fibrin matrix that allows the growth factors to be released more gradually over time for longer-lasting support. Both treatments work to promote healing, improve circulation, and support natural hair restoration.
The recommended treatment schedule for PRP or PRF is once every month for 4–6 months or until the desired result is reached, with quarterly maintenance treatments thereafter.
Restylane
The science behind Restylane® is hyaluronic acid, which is present in youthful skin but recedes and changes in structure as we age. Restylane gel injections boost your natural supply of hyaluronic acid, which will smooth out signs of aging and brings out the best of your features.
Restylane® gel treatments can diminish the appearance of:
- Nasolabial folds (laugh lines, from nose to mouth)
- Worry lines in forehead
- Glabellar lines between the eyebrows
- Smile lines (adjacent to the mouth)
- Perorbital lines (crow’s feet)
