Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) for Hair Loss and Thinning
Platelet rich plasma or PRP is used to stimulate the growth of hair and reduce the effects of hair loss and thinning in both men and women. For some patients, PRP has helped regrow hair for hereditary cases as well as for other causes of hair loss: hormonal, stress, age, surgery, illness, and more.
About PRP
PRP is derived from your own blood. After a quick blood draw, it is spun in a centrifuge to isolate the PRP. The PRP is then delivered via injection to the desired area(s) for hair growth. Platelets in the blood have an important job to promote healing. This is possible thanks to their growth factors and proteins that assist in regenerating cells in the body. When using PRP for hair loss, the growth factors’ job is to stimulate the inactive hair follicles into an active growth phase.
The recommended treatment schedule for PRP is once every month for 4-6 months or until desired result is reached, with quarterly maintenance treatments thereafter.
Restylane
The science behind Restylane® is hyaluronic acid, which is present in youthful skin but recedes and changes in structure as we age. Restylane gel injections boost your natural supply of hyaluronic acid, which will smooth out signs of aging and brings out the best of your features.
Restylane® gel treatments can diminish the appearance of:
- Nasolabial folds (laugh lines, from nose to mouth)
- Worry lines in forehead
- Glabellar lines between the eyebrows
- Smile lines (adjacent to the mouth)
- Perorbital lines (crow’s feet)
